London: In London, we enjoyed room temperature beer at a local pub, a ride on the London Eye, a trip to Gordon's Wine Bar for cheese and wine, touristy stops at Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben.
Paris: We took the train to Paris next, and stayed in the 9th arrondissement by the opera house. It was colder than expected, so we had to stop and get some sweaters/sweatshirts to layer onto the one pair of pants we brought. We did a lot of walking...to the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees, Notre Dam... followed by dinner in a small french bistro. The next day we headed to one of the most beautiful places, the Palace of Versailles. My last time here had been in the winter, and the gardens were closed. This time, however, they were open, the fountains were on, and we spent hours wandering around the labyrinths.
Dublin: We flew from Paris to Dublin, our last stop. To see the Irish countryside, we took a train to the small fishing village near Dublin called Howth and hiked the most beautiful coastline. The scenery was breathtaking, and we ate fish n chips at a local restaurant before heading back to the city. Dublin is a small and very walkable city - we enjoyed roaming around Trinity college and popping into different bars and shops. Another highlight was the Guinness factory, where I discovered I actually liked stout beer.
