may

It's finally warming up in Boston, seems like we skipped right over Spring into Summer. The last couple weeks have been busy; we headed to PA for Eric and Megan's wedding and then I went to NY this past weekend to celebrate Matt and Jess's engagement. It has been great to have all of these reunions with friends. I even fell a little bit in love with NYC...a city that's always intimidated me. Spending time in the West Village with Mara, I got to see the many amazing shops, restaurants, and parks.

flowers

Nothing like fresh Valentine's Day hydrangeas to get you through a third consecutive snow storm.

Superbowl champs

The Patriots are Superbowl champs (!), and luckily enough I snuck away to catch a glimpse of the celebratory parade this week. Despite the frigid cold, fans lined the streets of Boston to watch the duck boats. Although Eddie was less than enthused as an Eagles fan, I still think it's pretty neat to experience. This now marks two championships for teams since we have lived in Boston.

snow

We are currently experiencing a record amount of snow for Boston. I didn't think anything could top the bitter cold of last Winter, but these past two weeks have been crazy (more snow next week!). Kids have only had one or two days of school in the past week and half... Why couldn't this happen ten years ago when I could reap the benefits? This winter is definitely one we won't forget. Luckily, it is February and Spring is around the corner.

2014: a photo recap

I can't believe it is 2015. 2014 feels like it flew by, and mostly, it was a great year. I am continuously thankful for the health and good company of my family and friends. I think 2015 will be the best year yet. I hope to continue growing and challenging myself professionally, improving my health and fitness, and continuing to spend time with those I care about. As with tradition, here are some photos to highlight 2014:

I got to travel to many of my favorite places and see so many friends. I will hope for the same in 2015.

Thanksgiving 2014

Another great Thanksgiving spent on the Cape! We started off with the annual turkey trot, and haven't stopped eating since. Glad I was able to spend time with both family and friends this year. I can't believe it is time for the holidays already...2014 has flown by. I can't wait to head back up to Boston tomorrow and kickstart Christmas decorating (and shopping, since I haven't started). :)

October

October has been mainly slow and uneventful. We both have been battling a cold for a week or so, and hopefully the end is near. Due to this, we have been pretty low key around here. I am indulging in all things fall-- pumpkin coffee, pumpkin bread, homemade chowder and crusty bread-- mainly all food-related since that seems to be what fall is all about (aside from, you know, the leaves).

I was also lucky to meet my newest nephew, Jackson, born earlier this month. So happy for Josh and Amanda!

                 A mere 13 hours old!

Fall Updates

Fall has been a bit busy... A little crazy with work and Eddie starting his evening MBA program with BU.

About a month ago, my dad and his cousins reunited in Rhode Island (under sad circumstances of another cousin's death), but it was nice to meet distant family, connect and share stories, old pictures. I was able to see photos of my dad's parents when they were young. I never had the opportunity to meet my grandfather, so it was wonderful to see a glimpse of their life together.  It was a very special weekend.

Last weekend I traveled up to Maine to celebrate my nephew Jaxson's first birthday party.

Nic is an amazing father and Jax is as cute as can be.

25

Last Sunday, I turned 25. Although I have mixed feelings about this milestone birthday, the weekend started off pretty great. I got a promotion at work, had a nice leisurely Saturday (after a busy, fun Summer), and then a nice sunny Sunday full of favorite activities: a sunrise run, flea market hunting, a nice lunch in Marblehead on the water, a two hour nap, and an amazing dinner at Grotto in Beacon Hill. It was a good day. I can't wait to see what this next year holds.

Love the old fishermans' houses in Marblehead.

Block Island 2014

We wrapped up our summer in one of my favorite places - Block Island. So thankful to my aunt for hosting us again.

Our weekend consisted of biking, beach, donuts, and family. I couldn't ask for a better end of summer.

California 2014

Our whirlwind summer continues (we have been busy every weekend, it is crazy)...and now we are wrapping up our much anticipated trip to California with Eddie's family. It was our second time out here in two years, but this time for much longer and with nicer weather. We were able to visit Disneyland, San Juan Capistrano, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, LA, Hollywood, catch an Angels game, and eat lots of In N Out burger and Mexican food. It is also the longest vacation I've ever taken, so felt nice to get away :).
